Do I have to wear it all the time?
No, we suggest you use your intuition about how much to use the Shield. Most people wear it all the time either as a pendant or in their pocket. Some women will pin it to an under garment so it is not showing, but still close to their hearts. Others use their Shields only during the day or in certain circumstances like when working with computers, when feeling especially stressed and/or being around people, etc.

Is it waterproof?
Yes it is; however, we do not recommend wearing it in a chlorinated hot tub or swimming pool because sterling silver will tarnish much more quickly when exposed to enough chlorine. Shower, bath, lake, river or ocean water is fine.

Yes, you can. The Shield will actually balance other crystals, jewelry, magnets or other energy devices that are worn on the body.

If I am sensitive to other people's energies or sensitive to energy in general, how does the Shield help with this? How does the Shield actually protect a person from other people's energies?
1. The Shield balances and strengthens your energy so that usually you are more resistant to other people's energy if they are not in harmony with your energy.
2. The Shield weaves a vortex of your own energy around you that is so strong that about 90% on average of other energies, not compatible with yours, will go around you. This allows you to be much stronger in your own energy and to establish much healthier boundaries for yourself. It also tends to make difficult situations easier to deal with because you can then respond to what is being said, rather than reacting to the energy coming at you. Whether you know it or not, a person who is angry with you or who is simply being negative is putting out an energy that can have adverse affects on you. The Shield helps you stay more centered in your own energy so that you aren't constantly fighting against other less positive energies. Many people find that, when wearing a Shield, it is easier for them to establish healthy boundaries with regards to other people and the demands that are placed on them.

How does the Shield work to help me with stress?
Shields perform beautifully for you for two reasons. First of all, many of your key environmental stresses have been reduced so your body is no longer laboring under the stress from the EMFs and other people's negative energies. Secondly the Shield acts as an internal energy balancing tool. Normally when you are under stress your energy becomes scattered and unfocused, making an already difficult situation even more so. Your energy basically is expanding out or "running away" from you looking for dragons (i.e., adversarial energies) to fight. With the Shield on, your energy stays more centered and focused, leaving more energy available for both your body and your mental processes as well.
When we do stress tests with people, there is often a dramatic difference in their response to stress when they are holding a Shield. We've even had people state that while holding the Shield they feel differently about the problem or sometimes even could no longer easily access the situation that they had just been visualizing. What if I don't want to have to depend on an outside force to protect me? Shouldn't I be able to do this myself?
While each person has tremendous untapped potential to protect themselves without a Shield, we believe that only the most skilled yogis and martial arts masters are able to accomplish this 24/7 (i.e., on an ongoing basis). The Shields are very supportive for those practicing yoga, tai chi, or martial arts.
Not all of our customers wear their Shields all the time. Many people wear their Shields continuously, but others will take them off for a month or more. Then, intuitively they will put them back on again. The Shield strengthens your energy field so much that at times you might not actually need to wear it.
We have noticed that many people benefit greatly from the assistance of the Shield as they are learning to balance their energy and to establish healthier boundaries. In many ways the Shield is like "training wheels" for your energy field. Over time your energy learns what it is to be balanced and centered, and you can begin to more readily tell when you are "off" or when your boundaries aren't holding up. Some people after wearing the Shield for a period of years find that if their life styles are very positive and stress free, they wear it less and less as time goes by and feel just as strong without it. Then, when they will go through a period of adjustment, sudden changes, new growth, challenges and/or stress, they intuitively begin wearing the Shield again until things are back in balance, smoothed out and flowing easily. Again, use your intuition about what is right for you. Can I share it with someone or give it to someone after I have worn it for a while?
The Shield patterns to your energy field in just a matter of hours, and so if you gave it to someone it could actually be uncomfortable for them, if your frequency was quite different from theirs. You can let them hold it, or do a muscle test on them with the Shield to check for compatibility. Basic info on muscle testing is in the section of this site called "Shield Test/Research".
If you were upgrading to a more powerful Shield (i.e., the gold tab, all 14K gold, or all 14K gold with a diamond) and wish to give your old Shield to someone, or are loaning your Shield for any other reason, you can clear the energy by hanging the Shield in a window during the day light hours only for a week.

Can the Shield be engraved?
Yes, it can within certain limits. There are specific guidelines to make sure the design doesn't interfere with the energy of the Shield. There are certain designs, which will skew and ruin the effectiveness of the Shield. To be sure, please call and discuss it with us or mail in a copy of the design.

If I'd like to get one for my partner, but they won't wear jewelry, is there any other option?
They can simply carry the Shield in a pocket. The ideal location for the Shield is over the heart. It works easiest and most efficiently there. But it is still doing its job while in the pocket.
They can put it on the nightstand next to their side of the bed, and, as long as it is within three feet of them, it is in their energy field and balancing and strengthening and protecting them as they sleep.

Can my child wear one?
Yes, we find that some children, typically the younger ones, are very attracted to their parent's Shield, and try to actually grab it and put it on. If your child seems to want to wear a Shield, we suggest that you make one available to them to wear at home until they are old enough not to lose it when they are out of the house. It is also easy to safety pin the Shield inside a garment or pocket.
Some parents tell me that their children hang it on a bedpost, and it stays there all the time. Sleeping with it works very well for children since it has a residual effect during the day. We have made them for 3 years old and up - and they put them on and take them off intuitively...which is why it's good to keep the Shield inside the home environment. When they are old enough to wear a Shield responsibly, then they are also at the age where they are working with computers and/or watching TV up close. Either of which indicates an important time to protect your child. Some parent's report pinning the Shield to their child's backpack or in their pants pockets with great success.

What if I did, but now don't still FEEL the Shield working after having it for several weeks or months?
Some people, if they don't feel a difference any longer, wonder if perhaps their Shield isn't working. This is because they are so used to the energy of the Shield. Often when they first start wearing it during the initial balancing process they feel a lot of energy, but after a while they don't feel as much. This doesn't mean the Shield isn't working, it simply means that new changes are no longer happening. For many people, if they were to quit wearing it for a time, they would then notice the difference in how they feel.
The Shield can get depleted when you are in a high stress situation, but it has a self-charging mechanism up to a point. If you have had your Shield for more than a year and have not been following the monthly schedule, and you are wondering if it needs to be recharged, you probably are intuitively picking up that it's time for a "tune-up". First try hanging it in sunlight for a couple days and see if that makes a difference. If it doesn't, we suggest that you send it in for recharging. You can also have someone do the muscle testing with you to see if the Shield is working to capacity. To muscle test refer to the procedure shown in the "Shield Test/Research" section of this web site. For the testing you first do a pretest, then retest by either: imagining a stressful situation or holding up a battery operated watch or cell phone and retesting. Finally hold the Shield and retest again. If you test weak even with the Shield, it's time for revitalization. Another note if the Shield is not seeming to work, you might consider a stronger model Shield.

Do they wear out?
No, they last forever if you recharge them about once a month. To recharge the Shield and keep it working at peak efficiency, hang it in daylight, either sunny or cloudy, for at least 6 hours a month. Day light through a window is fine, but outside is even better! This recharging cannot be done while wearing the Shield in the sun. It needs to be off your body hanging free so there is space around it. This will re-energize the crystals in the Shield. The crystals in the Shield are constantly working and begin to get fatigued. Physicists have been recharging crystals through various methods for years, but we know that sunlight will work perfectly for the Shield.

How do I keep my Shield functioning at peak levels?
If the Shield is hung inside a window or placed outside during daylight hours on a sunny or cloudy day at least once a month for at least 6 hours, then, under normal use, it will stay fully charged forever. Exposure to direct sunlight is not necessary to effectively charge your Shield. In fact it will recharge beautifully even if it gets no exposure to direct sunlight for the entire 6 hour daylight recharging period.
You cannot overcharge the Shield by charging it indoors or outdoors for more than 6 hours. You can also charge it up by doing the procedure for two 3-hour periods instead of one 6-hour session. However, do not leave your Shield off of you hanging out when it is dark. Moonlight will drain its energy. That does not happen when you are wearing your Shield at night.
If you work in an extremely negative or stressful environment, you could recharge your Shield for 6 hours more than once a month. Under these "ultra high intensity" stress periods you can recharge it 2-4 times a month as needed.
NOTE: Use only daylight with direct sun or even heavy cloud cover for recharging. Artificial and/or full spectrum or plant grow lights should be avoided for recharging because they do not work.

How do I get my Shield revitalized, if I don't do the monthly process?
If you want us to revitalized your Shield in our special crystal room (i.e., recharge, re-polish and ship it back to you in the US), you may send it to us along with $34.95. PLEASE CALL BEFORE SENDING IT. We will then place the Shield in a natural charging environment that reactivates the crystals, and return your Shield to you ASAP.
Remember, if the Shield is hung in daylight (i.e., sunny or cloudy) at least once a month for at least 6 hours, then it will stay fully charged, forever! Exposure to direct sunlight is not necessary to effectively charge your Shield. In fact it will recharge beautifully even if it gets no exposure to direct sunlight for the entire 6-hour daylight-recharging period. Charging it during daylight only for several days won't hurt it because it can't get "overcharged".
If the shield is left out for less than three nights, charge it 2 days at 6 hours per day for each day left out. For example, if left out one night charge it for 2 days at 6 hours/day. If left out for three or more nights, it must be sent in for recharging at no cost to recharge (only $10 for shipping and handling).
As for International Shields, please Do Not return for recharging unless you wish to cover the usually high shipping charges and complicated customs procedures. Please do the monthly revitalization process.

What are "International Shields"?
Different regions of the world have slightly different energy needs. We've developed Shields to specifically meet the needs of each area. Regarding the Silver Shields, if you are traveling or living in an area outside of North America (i.e., USA, Canada or Mexico) for less than a year, your regular (North American) Shield is fine, but if you are going to another continent for over a year, then we recommend getting a Silver Shield designed for that region. This need to get a different Shield for living for more than a year in various parts of the world dramatically changes when we discuss any of the Diamond Power Gold Shields or the Gold Power Shields. Either of these models is so much more powerful and versatile than the potent Silver Shields that they adapt are fully functional in any part of the world.

What might it mean if I got a headache or felt blah, spaced out, dizzy or noticed some "negative" symptom wearing the Shield?
The Shields, including the most basic models, are powerfully protective and supportive devices, which most people like and enjoy from day one. When you begin wearing the Shield, your energy goes through a BRIEF re-balancing and/or energetic detoxifying process. Some people who are extremely sensitive to energy may notice this as physical discomfort, lower energy levels, some disorientation or feeling a little off. If there is any initial discomfort, we recommend that folks start by having it under their pillow or on their nightstand for the first few nights and not wearing it during the day at all until the 4th or 5th day. Some utilize an even more conservative initial approach. For the first two weeks, instead of wearing it, they place the Shield on their nightstand. Then the next two weeks they start wearing their Shield during the day as well, building the time up from two hours a day to all day as it feels comfortable to them.
If they still experience discomfort, there is a possibility that a different model will work better. The more energy or emotionally sensitive or artistic/creative of our customers frequently prefer the silver Shield with gold tabs to the basic model with the brass tabs. There is no one best way to enjoy your Shield so use your intuition and feel free to call anytime with questions, suggestions and/or comments about how your Shield is working for you.

Can the Shield be worn during pregnancy?
Yes because the Shield strengthens a person's entire energy field. This means that it is excellent to wear the Shield during pregnancy. Our acupuncture research showed that wearing the Shield strengthened the immune system, all body organs and systems. During pregnancy, a woman may need extra strength and a better-balanced energy field for the additional demands that are placed upon her. Because the fetus and Mother are cohabiting the same body, the Shield will be balancing the fetus as well.

Can the Shield "fix or lock" my energy at one frequency?
No, the Shield contains not just one crystal, but also a specific configuration of 5 crystals, which causes the Shield to behave differently than a single crystal. The Shield comes at a balanced frequency band. When you first put on a Shield, your frequency will be somewhere within that band. The Shield will find your specific frequency within 12 hours.
Here's an analogy for this. When you put two tuning forks together which are within a half a note of each other, they will tune to the same note within a short period of time. The Shield will always tune to your energy, and then help balance and strengthen it, even as you change and grow over the years. It NEVER fixes or locks your frequency.

Is the Shield at the earth's frequency? Does the energy of the Shield shift as the earth's frequency changes?
The earth's frequency, sometimes called the Shuman frequency, IS increasing because the consciousness of the inhabitants is increasing. As the consciousness of the people goes up, the consciousness of the planet goes up. A key point to note is that many people assume that the shield is always at the earth frequency, and that, if it changes, then the shield isn't vibrating fast enough. However, the shield is vibrating at the highest frequency available and positive on this planet. This means that sometimes it's actually vibrating faster than the earth's frequency and sometimes they are the same. It fluctuates a lot. But it's not that the shield is catching up with the Earth's. It's actually the other way around.
Other products on the market today are made of computer chips and other artificial materials, and as such, are fixed in their frequency. The Shield's crystals are alive, and able to adapt with the changes in the people and the planet. These crystals, as part of the earth, are in complete harmony with the planet, and as the planet rises, they rise. By wearing a Shield, the person is assisted in staying healthier, more balanced, stronger and in harmony with the current vibration of the planet.

Will a Shield absorb negative energy?
NO. When a person buys a single crystal, it comes at one frequency and will absorb energy. Then the single crystal has to be cleansed with seawater or the sun. The BioElectric Shield DOES NOT ABSORB ENERGY. When it is on you, it is in the "protect and balance" mode, balancing and strengthening your energy field, and deflecting any energy not compatible with you. Therefore, it isn't ever going to absorb negative energy. In order for it to recharge itself, you hang it in a window or outside. The Shield is now on input and will accept the recharge, the way a battery also needs recharging. See above for more information on recharging.
